Our Client, General Mining Corporation Limited (GMM) is focussed on the redevelopment of the Mt Cattlin Project in Ravensthorpe, Western Australia. On their behalf we are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Operations Manager.
Reporting to the yet to be appointed Chief Operating Officer, your primary focus initially will be to bring the plant and mine up to a state of operational readiness before moving on to the recommencement of mining operations and plant re-commissioning and ramp up.
To achieve in this role you will possess:
- The ability and passion to bring this operation back into production safely and efficiently
- A strong understanding of the necessary Health, Safety and Environment requirements
- The ability to make business critical decisions autonomously and under strict time pressures
- Solid, well developed leadership skills
- A strong background in operational and staff management and ability to assist in the resolution of technical issues with the team
- Experience interacting with various regulatory authorities and community groups
- Experience developing, implementing and reporting on budgets, controls and systems
The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to help restart this asset, hire an entire team and take it through to full production. A significant part of this role will focus on managerial accountability and driving a new culture of performance excellence throughout the project.
