Australian Strategic Materials and Mining Journal REE Whitepaper

Mining Journal and ASM
Australian Strategic Materials and Mining Journal REE Whitepaper

Much has been made of the investment opportunity in the rare earth element (REE) space. Most by now understand that key elements in the REE series are central for highly sensitive applications in the new-energy and security industries. The dominance of China is also well publicised, theoretically making ex.China production a strategic priority.

However, prices have not behaved as one might expect given this backdrop. The key NdPr oxide indicator has been drifting lower this year, yet those close to the sector would suggest contracts are being negotiated at materially higher levels. This speaks to the difficulties in understanding REE markets for investors and how they should be considering both the near-term opportunity for another price run, and also the longer-term play.

To address this lack of insight, Mining Journal has produced a whitepaper that will review REE markets, their challenges and their opportunities. This foundational document will equip readers with a grounding in the realities of the REE space to help inform investment decisions.
