As part of the package, Monadelphous has scored $160 million worth of structural, mechanical and piping installation and commissioning work at the Sino Iron project near Karratha in Western Australia.
The work will start immediately, focusing on the ball mill facilities as well as primary and secondary magnetic separation facilities.
The facilities are located on concentrator lines three to six.
“We are very pleased to be awarded this contract with Sino Iron at Cape Preston and look forward to participating in the delivery of another phase of development at this significant Western Australian iron ore project,” Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said.
Kerman scored a similar contract worth $146 million and will complete structural, mechanical and piping installation and commissioning, although its contract also includes electrical work.
The company said the scope of works covered the autogenous grinding mill, pebble crusher and stockpile tunnels, also on concentrator lines three to six.
“By installing 15,000 tonnes of structural steel, 800 pieces of mechanical equipment, 40km of pipe and 80km of cable, Kerman will contribute significantly to complete the remaining four processing lines at Sino Iron,” Kerman project director Klaus Hartmann said.
Kerman is already delivering a $54 million contract for civil and concrete works on the same processing lines.
It has also just completed the $13 million works for the AG mill ring motor for line two ahead of schedule.
Kerman said its early completion allowed the company to start immediately on the new contract.
Monadelphous shares were last trading 0.8% lower at $15.95.
