Gold stocks bear brunt of rising interest rate concerns

SOME big names in the gold sector were pummelled on the US interest rate backdrop, including Evolution and Northern Star, which both fell circa 10%. Among the very few in positive territory were Laverton explorer Magnetic, gaining after launching a “strategic review” on realising value for its resources/ground, and West African Resources, which had been belted on Tuesday following a coup in Burkina Faso.
