SPOT gold was trading $US14.05 higher, or 1.6%, at $880.85 per ounce at 3.53pm EDT. The bulk of gold plays on the <i>Final Call</i> watchlist closed higher today with Newcrest Mining up 1.9% at $A32.37, Lihir Gold up 6% at $2.98, Sino Gold up 7.3% at $4.42 and Newmont Mining up 4.7% at $5.74.
