Gold producers gain ground

ALTHOUGH the Comex gold price was slightly lower on the New York Mercantile Exchange last night to $US1603.70 per ounce, most major gold producers enjoyed a good run in today’s trade. Intrepid Mines jumped 27.6% after selling 5% of its shares and coming to terms with project risks in Indonesia and Northern Star made healthy headway with shares up by 8c to 94c after a strong reporting season.
