The mineralisation was found in the Sigma lode and will be added into the company's definitive feasibility study due in March next year.

Meanwhile, a high-grade intercept of 21m grading 3.94 grams per tonne "presents further opportunity at depth at this emerging prospect", Bardoc said.

Sigma is 400m from the proposed underground workings at Aphrodite and will form part of Bardoc's future exploration.

Diamond core, RC and aircore drilling is underway or about to begin elsewhere at Bardoc, with the company anticipating "strong news-flow from this campaign to continue over the coming weeks."

Bardoc's Aphrodite deposit is a multi-lode system containing 1.7 million ounce in resources and 500,000oz in ore reserves.

Shares in Bardoc were up 4% to 8c in midday trade, capitalising the company at $138 million.
