Syama woes lift Resolute cash costs

RESOLUTE Mining’s John Welborn might have wished for a better September given the “ugly” impact of Syama roaster issues forced him to increase year-end all-in sustaining cash costs from US$960 per ounce to $1020/oz, though he consoles himself with the fact the miner still expects to meet production guidance of 400,000oz.

"We had a strong quarter… but we were impacted by the Syama repairs," he said this morning.   Resolute poured 103,201oz of gold in the quarter at $1202/oz and sold 127,265oz at an average gold price...
