LES Davis, the managing director of Silver Lake Resources is right at home in the eastern goldfields of Western Australia, banking his early career on the rich Kambalda nickel field and clocking up 25 years with iconic Australian mining house WMC, so it is little wonder he now finds himself in the driver’s seat of an emerging 300,000 ounce per annum beast, but this time it is gold, not nickel that has his focus.
