Macquarie Arc: Elephants hiding in plain sight

MJ and MNN have joined forces with Rick Rule and the expert team at Exploration Insights

Mining Journal and Miningnews.net

The Macquarie Arc has somehow remained a hidden region of opportunity for world-class copper porphyry deposits. It has the geology for tier-one discoveries and sits within Australia – arguably the premier nation in mining – yet operations of note remain constrained to a handful of mines. But that looks set to change.

Already home to prominent miners Newmont Mining and Evolution Mining that operate the Cadia and Cowal mines, respectively, the Macquarie Arc has become a hive of activity for junior explorers, which have in turn attracted a suite of larger mining groups looking for a foothold into the surging copper space.

Mining Journal and MiningNews.net have joined forces with resources investment giant Rick Rule and the expert team at Exploration Insights to shine a light on the geology of the Macquarie Arc, its potential to deliver mineral resources at a scale that would make it a material contributor to energy-transition copper needs, and the current hum of activity being generated by a handful of juniors and exploration technology frontrunners.

Rick moderates an in-depth virtual panel and is joined by Exploration Insights' Brent Cook; explorers Kincora Copper, Waratah Minerals, and Inflection Resources; and subsurface imaging innovator Fleet Space to devour the detail behind what could soon become the most interesting exploration frontier in the world.

We continue the discussion through individual profile pieces with the panellists and gather the views of fellow Macquarie Arc explorers LinQ and Magmatic Resources to round out the picture from a terrain attracting more investment than almost any other today.
