Newmont, PAMPS launch 1oz traceable bar

Gold sector leader Newmont has partnered with metals refinery and mint MKS PAMP to produce a traceable 1oz gold bar featuring the Lady of Liberty image exclusively made with Newmont-mined gold, refined and minted in Switzerland. "Our commitment to sustainable mining practices and sourcing transparency makes purchasing gold attainable for consumers – even while shopping for household goods," said Newmont chief development officer Peter Toth. The 1oz Lady of Liberty Newmont gold bar is available at the largest US wholesaler, likely Costco. Costco began selling gold bars in 50g and 1oz versions in October 2023 and said in December 2023 that it was selling gold bars worth more than $100 million per quarter.
