Enaex came into Australia in 2021 through the $62 million purchase of Downer Blasting Services and the consolidation of the Davey Bickford Australia business.
MTi Group, based in the northern Perth industrial suburb of Wangara, makes blasting accessories such as Blastbag, Blastshield and Blastball.
Enaex Australia chief executive officer Edmundo Jimenez believes adding MTi Group to the portfolio enhances the ability of both businesses to give customers added value, agility and innovation.
"Over the past 20 years MTi Group has built a solid global reputation as a leading manufacturer and distributor of blasting accessories," he said.
"With a production centre here at home in Australia plus three more in China, the US and South Africa, MTi Group has a strong commercial presence across the globe.
"We believe that by working together Enaex and MTi Group can make a positive, impactful difference on the ground at the mine site."
Over the past two years Enaex has grown its footprint in underground and open cut operations across all main mining regions and commodities in WA, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.
Besides the MTi Group buy, Enaex also bought 45% of Portuguese blasting software company O-Pitblast.
It means it can offer its customers an Enaex-backed blast design software option.
Jimenez said having an in-house software solution was an important step in building Enaex's competitiveness in the Australian market.
"O-Pitblast is the leading provider of blasting software in South America and has built a solid long-term working with Enaex over the past five years," he said.
"Our Enaex Mining Technical Solutions engineers have intimate knowledge and experience working with O-Pitblast software, using it to deliver blast design services to our customers across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
"Use of our O-Pitblast software will be offered to our customers on an as-need, opt-in basis."
