Mining tech firm raises $7.5M

Plotlogic's investors include 8VC, Baidu Ventures, DCVC and Grids Capital.

The six-year-old company, led by founder Andrew Job, employs 30 people and plans to double by the end of 2021.

Plotlogic's OreSense technology allows mine operators to precisely understand the location and material properties of any commodity in real-time.

"Plotlogic's technology is an exciting development in resource knowledge and forms an important part of our growth as we digitally transform our mining businesses," Job said.

The company is partnering with global majors including BHP, South32 and Anglo American.

Plotlogic's most recent international deployment of its OreSense system was to an Anglo American project in South Africa.

The company continues to increase its global footprint with imminent deployments to South America, North America, Asia, and Russia.

Former St Barbara managing director and current Ramelius Resources chairman Bob Vassie sits on Plotlogic's board.
