AIMEX Production Day is capping a series of theme days at the Sydney Showgrounds this week, through the unveiling of cutting-edge products and services aimed at boosting profits and efficiency.
The presentations were selected by an external panel and were required to address key concerns of the industry by showing clear benefits to mining operations.
Proceedings began this morning with a presentation by GE Mining on process and asset optimisation techniques, to increase throughput and reliability while simultaneously minimising energy costs and optimising maintenance activities.
This was followed by a presentation from Modular Mining on increasing brownfield production through operational changes focused on maximising workforce and equipment efficiency.
The program is scheduled to follow with a talk by Rockwell Automation industry manager for mining Geoff Irvine on using an existing automation system to "sweat your assets."
Irvine is expected to examine ways of driving greater throughput, lower costs and better management of assets.
Later this afternoon, Leica Geosystems Mining will look at fleet management optimisation through the company's Jigsaw system, which uses equipment-tracking algorithms for improving efficiency in truck allocations.
LC Engineering will present last on optimising hydraulic diggers with its Titan production monitor, which weighs each shovel bucket before it is dumped in the truck and immediately forecasts how many remaining bucketloads are recommended to achieve greatest efficiency.
Production Day presentations are free for registered AIMEX visitors.
