The contract renewal comes with a one-year extension option.
Alliance provides 12 weekly flights to and from Cloncurry for the Ernest Henry mine, 38km northeast of the town, and exits from Townsville, Cairns and Brisbane.
The contract extension builds on the pair’s relationship, which was first established in 2003.
Alliance is an established and specialist provider of fly-in, fly-out solutions for the mining sector with operations based in Perth, Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, Adelaide and Melbourne.
The company does not operate regular passenger transit services like other airlines.
Alliance owns and maintains its own fleet, which includes 18 Fokker 100s, six Fokker 50s and two Fokker 70Rs.
The company recently secured a five-year contract with Newmont Mining Corporation to transport the FIFO workforce to and from its Tanami gold operations in the Northern Territory.
Alliance’s earnings are largely derived from providing FIFO services to its long-term contract mining customers, such as Newcrest, Citic Pacific and OZ Minerals.
Total revenue for the 2012 financial year amounted to $A184.2 million, representing a 44% increase on the previous year, as a result of the full year effect of contracts won in 2010 and new contracts won during FY12.
Shares in Alliance were last trading at $2.05.
