SCEE said the contract came in the form of variations to a previous award covering phase 1 work on the car dumpers and screenhouse.

The new contract covers the balance of works and takes the total value of SCEE’s awarded work on the project to about $80 million.

Negotiation on this latest work has been underway for some months, after SCEE was awarded the first $40 million contract in January.

The company previously completed work at Cape Lambert Port B in 2012-13.

Last month Rio also awarded SCEE a $10 million contract on the Nammuldi mine.

The work saw SCEE enter into a sub-contracting agreement with Civmec to carry out the electrical and instrumentation component of stockyard and train load-out works.

SCEE shares were down 4.4% to 86c today.
