Wenco been contracted to supply its Wenco fleet management system at Roy Hill.
The initial deployment of 34 Wenco units for shovels, trucks and dozers will begin in 2014, with additional units slated for installation as the mine begins and ramps up production.
Wenco said the implementation of the system was part of Roy Hill's goal to create a technologically advanced mining operation.
Part of that strategy included the construction of a remote operations centre at Perth airport, which was officially opened last month.
"The Roy Hill project is not only a rich iron ore deposit but it will also be a great example of integration of new technologies in surface mining," Wenco regional director Jayson Bebek said.
"We are very excited that Roy Hill chose the Wenco fleet management system as the solution to meet their needs for remote dispatching and comprehensive fleet management."
Roy Hill is set to begin production late next year, subject to financing.
