Under the new contract, Goodline will cover structural, mechanical and piping work for the port stockyard.
It will also complete electrical and instrumentation work for the stockyard.
“Goodline has previously worked on the Roy Hill project and is familiar with the overall construction schedule. We look forward to working with them,” Samsung said.
The update comes just days after Laing O’Rourke lost a $A215 million contract for port works following a commercial dispute with Samsung.
At the time media reports suggested the parties had been unable to agree on who would bear responsibility for delays on the project, but those rumours were not confirmed.
“We have received a lot of expressions of interest from workers previously contracted to Laing O’Rourke to continue working on the Roy Hill project through the new contractor,” Samsung said.
“All of the EOIs received have been forwarded to Goodline for necessary processing.”
Goodline has already started its mobilisation process, and says it is pleased to secure the new work with Roy Hill.
“We have a good working relationship with Samsung C&T through our previous work on the project,” it said.
“Roy Hill is a great project of national significance and we are pleased to be associated with it.”
Along with Goodline, Samsung has also brought in Civmec to cover a portion of the Laing O’Rourke work related to the installation of a car dumper.
