BHP Iron Ore at Port Hedland has overcome this problem. Fitted liners fitted to 30 Syntron Electromagnetic Vibratory Feeders, recently supplied by Transfield Process Equipment, ensure free flow of its iron ore.

The heated liner, fitted between the bottom of the trough and the wear liners, consists of a stainless steel envelope to prevent corrosion, sinuated Nichrom wire and high grade insulating material. The liner dries a very this layer of fines on the trough surface, thereby ensuring the free flow of iron ore.

In a wide range of applications, these liners have been consistently reliable and will ensure that BHP is able to effectively feed a cross section of damp ore into its plant, Transfield said.
