Davis joined the board last month along with Alan J Carr and Daniel Harris, as part of the debt restructuring deal, as nominated by Atlas’ lenders.

The US businessman was formerly an attorney and negotiator with Exxon Corporation, and heads up his own firm PIRINATE Consulting Group.

PIRINATE specialises in corporate restructures, mergers and acquisitions and corporate advisory services.

Davis said he looked forward to working with the Atlas team to maximise shareholder returns.

Edwardes will remain on the Atlas board as a non-executive director.

She had been a long-time consultant to Atlas when she joined the board in May last year, and was later appointed chairperson after David Flanagan returned to the managing director role.

Atlas shares were unchanged at A1.3c this morning.
