Pak Mursalim Sahman was safely rescued this morning and is being brought to the surface to be reunited with his family.
He is understood to be in good health and good spirits, but will be taken to the Gosowong medical centre for health checks.
Sahman has been trapped in the Kencana underground since last Monday night after a geotechnical event.
On Wednesday, the company was able to establish contact with him via a small drill hole and provide him with food and water.
The complex rescue, which involved rigorous geotechnical and risk assessments, was progressed with the assistance of Sahman.
A large diameter bore hole reached the chamber on Sunday morning and the hole was being lined yesterday prior to attempting extraction.
Sahman was operating an air-conditioned drill rig at the time of the accident.
Newcrest CEO Sandeep Biswas flew from Melbourne to Indonesia last week to oversee the rescue.
He announced yesterday that, with the assistance of experts, a safety transformation plan had been developed, focused on culture, critical control management and process safety management.
