POLYMETALLIC producer <strong>Bass Metals</strong> has appointed Barry Sullivan as a non-executive director following the retirement of founding director Don Boyer.

Sullivan has been involved in the mining industry for nearly 40 years, first with Anglo American in South Africa and in Australia with Mount Isa Mines working on four underground and one open cut mines.

Sullivan’s appointment is the second part of a broader strategy to strengthen the company’s board following the appointment of chief operating officer Victor Rajasooriar to operations director.

World Titanium Resources has appointed Jeff Williams as a non-executive director.

Williams adds additional mineral sands development experience to the board having been managing director of Mineral Deposits during the development of the Grande Cote mineral sands project in Senegal.

Williams established Nimbus Resources and acquired mineral sands assets from BHP Billiton near Hawks Nest on the New South Wales coast in 1998.

Gold explorer Waratah Resources has appointed Terry Streeter as non-executive director and company chairman and Rod White as non-executive director.

The appointments follow the resignations of Michael Young and Ian Bruce, who stepped down due to a potential conflict over interests with other companies.

Streeter holds board positions at many companies including Fox Resources and is a substantial shareholder of Waratah while White holds nearly 19 years experience in accounting and finance.

Haranga Resources has appointed Erdene Tsengelbayar and Kerry Griffin to its board of directors following the resignation of Kell Nielson as exploration director.

Erdene, who has been chief operating officer since 2009, has been appointed as executive director.

Griffin, who is a geologist with 18 years experience, has been employed as company technical manager.

Gold explorer Sovereign Gold Company chief executive officer and executive director Nicholas Raffan has resigned from the company citing personal reasons.

Raffan has been a company director since September 16, 2010 and CEO since December 2010 where he led the company in its IPO.

He will provide ongoing support to the company as required.

Raffan has also resigned as a director of Hudson Resources, a company he has worked with since November 2010, starting out as head of corporate development before being appointed a director on August 19 last year.

Allied Gold has appointed Johan Oelofse as its group general manager of operations to oversee the Simberi and Gold Ridge mines in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Oelofse has more than 30 years experience as a mining engineer and is the former chief operating officer of Great Basin Gold.

Nyota Minerals has appointed Michael Langoulant as company secretary following the resignations of co-company secretaries Mark Burchnall and Richard Jarvis.

In addition to his new role Langoulant will continue as company finance director.

Emerging gold producer Altius Mining has appointed Xiaojing Wang and Jia Yu to its board, effective immediately.
