The stock more than doubled after standout drill intercepts of 12m grading 21.9 grams per tonne gold, 25m grading 17gpt gold and 32m grading 4.3gpt gold were reported.
Other drill results included 4m grading 8gpt gold, 16m grading 6.8gpt gold and 8m grading 5gpt gold.
The shallow exploratory drill campaign was designed to test strike and depth extensions to several ore horizons beneath historical open pit and underground mine workings.
The total of 1811m of RC drilling is believed to have revealed an ore shoot associated with the Eastern Lode beneath and adjacent to the Lady Robinson open pit, Barra said.
A heavily mineralised zone with potential broad widths and high grades has been intersected alongside the pit wall and floor, Barra said.
The shoot is known to extend a further 40m beneath the pit plunging in a northerly direction.
Barra said it would continue further drill testing the strike extensions and the down plunge continuity of the Eastern Lode through March, aiming to have a resource estimate prior to the end of the June quarter.
Historically underground mining at Birthday Gift, Main Lode and Lady Robinson produced 325,000 ounces of gold between 1885 and 1914. Modern day open pit mining between 1982 and 1991 produced a total of 41,340 ounces of gold.
Late last year Barra raised $630,000 to fund the exploration campaign. Shares in the company were at 15c in late trade, a gain of over 120% after closing at 6.8c yesterday.
