Drilling in June 2014 at the Camembert prospect intersected two mineralised structures confirming an east-west orientation of the structures.

During the September quarter Evolution drilled six holes, all of which intersected epithermal-textured quartz veins.

Highlights included 3 metres at 6.25 grams per tonne gold from 395m; 4m at 8.13gpt gold from 493m, including 2.7m at 11.65gpt gold; 7.3m at 6.18gpt gold from 570.8m, including 3.7m at 9.37gpt gold; and 1.9m at 10.98gpt gold from 539m, including 0.9m at 20.5gpt gold.

“We are really very excited about these results,” Evolution vice president discovery Dr Roric Smith said this morning.

Camembert is 1200m east of the Zed underground workings at Pajingo.

Previous drilling in 2006 intersected quartz veins, but it was only after the company completed a 4D seismic survey earlier this year that it was revisited.

The seismic work identified a new fault that highlighted the potential for mineralisation to extend towards existing resources at Zed.

Data from the seismic survey is still being processed and is likely to be available in the current quarter for further drillhole targeting.

Shares in Evolution rose 2.7% to A63.7c.
