FITCH Ratings’ suggestion that the prognosis for mining this year would be determined by Chinese policy and the continued development of the electric vehicle (EV) story is hardly a ground-breaking forecast. That the net outcome of these drivers was likely to deliver another strong year for miners, however, is of greater significance.
