Quinlivan, who is still on the board at Ora Banda, which is still working through ramp-up issues, and is also chairman of profitable gold miner Silver Lake Resources, has teamed up with geologist Harjinder Kehal and mineral processing veteran Robert Beeck to found privately run explorers Serena Minerals and Shenton Resources over recent years.
Those assets are now being vended into multi-commodity explorer Dalaroo Metals, which is seeking to raise A$5 million at 20c to pursue exploration of the Namban nickel-copper-platinum group element project on the southern margin of Western Australia's Yilgarn Craton, and the Lyons River zinc-lead-copper project in the state's Gascoyne region.
Namban is 80km north of Chalice Mining's Julimar discovery, and is both adjacent to the town of Moora, 150km from Perth, and the Moora and Koojan projects that Liontown Resources is using as a basis for its $30 million demerger of Minerals 260.
Dalaroo infers that northwest trending nickel-copper-PGE anomalism may extend from Liontown's area into its Moora sub-project, one of four areas within its wider 437sq.km project.
Nambam covers some 60km of strike adjacent to the Darling Fault, and work completed so far suggests the presence of Julimar-style magnetic intrusions/anomalies.
Dalaroo is planning to start with grassroots exploration programs such as auger geochemical sampling, and a mix of airborne and ground electromagnetic surveys.
It has two initial targets: the Watheroo chonolith, a shallow 5km by 2km area from where reconnaissance stream sediment sampling has returned copper values of up to 80 parts per million; and the 1.2km by 400m Longreach bullseye magnetic anomaly.
Namban also comes with a near-surface potassium rich zone at Watheroo with a 20-25 million tonne grading 6-8% exploration target that may be capable of supporting a hard rock potash mining operation.
In the north of WA, Serena co-funded diamond drilling of the 2.5km-long Four Corners IP and soil anomaly within the 700sq.km Lyons River project, and defined primary sulphides that are still to be assayed, however XRF measurements indicated grades of 3.7% zinc, 3.6% lead and 0.2% copper.
Post-IPO, downhole surveys are planned, to be followed by 3000m of RC drilling.
Dalaroo believes the area is prospective for sedimentary-exhalative deposit/Broken Hill-type base metals, particularly following a 2019 study by Geoscience Australia that highlighted the potential of areas such as Lyons River.
The Geological Survey of WA originally defined an elevated silver-lead anomaly in the area in the 1990s.
BHP moved in and focused on the Morrissey metamorphic suite, with a 6km-long lead-zinc copper anomaly defined at Four Corners. The greenfields area has since passed through a number of companies over the past 15 years.
Dalaroo has been in the area since 2017, and has helped define a number other lead-zinc geochemical anomalies at Crawfords, Browns, Moondyne, McCarthy and Goodbody.
Dalaroo hopes to list in September.
