Base metal producers in demand

A STRING of good performers in the base metal arena as associated commodities showed mixture of gains and losses in Asia trade. Nickel’s return on a positive trajectory saw futures for the metal pass the US$14,000 per tonne and equity Nickel Mines in demand from investors, while copper miners' Metals X and OZ Minerals were also strongly bought after the red metals had a strong LME session overnight.
