Graphite developer Battery Minerals has appointed African funding specialist ThirdWay Africa to assist with financing the Montepuez project in Mozambique.

Battery still has A$5.7 million cash and will preserve its funds while it advances through the funding process.

Centaurus Metals has confirmed "outstanding" high-grade nickel sulphide drill targets at its Jaguar project in Brazil.

Initial results from work by Southern Geoscience has confirmed a 400m-long fixed-loop electromagnetic conductor and a 600m-long EM conductor plate.

A maiden diamond drilling program will kick off at the end of October.

The former Vale project already contains a historical resource estimate of 315,000 tonnes of nickel.

Zinc of Ireland has intersected thick, high-grade zinc mineralisation outside the resource at its Kildare project in Ireland.

The hole returned 6m at 12.5% zinc and lead from 401m and 10m at 9.1% zinc and lead from 418m within a larger zone of 37m at 6% zinc and lead from 391m.

The intersection sits about 250m east of the McGregor resource and 200m southwest of the Shamrock resource.

Finally, Metals Australia has continued to hit graphite at its Lac Rainy project in Quebec, Canada.

The latest results included 30m at 8.24% graphitic carbon from 10.5m; 16.45m at 6.41% graphitic carbon from 54m; and 21.5m at 16.24% graphitic carbon from 98.5m.
