Gold fell below US$1200 an ounce early this morning, but is currently sitting just above that level

The yellow metal suffered as the US dollar rose. Comex gold futures for December plummeted to $1198.60 an ounce overnight and last traded at $1201.50/oz, well below around $1220/oz this time yesterday....
