Good news in nickel

THERE were plenty of positive movers in the long-suffering nickel space today after the price jumped on Friday due to speculation over mine closures in the Philippines. The price hit an eight-month high of $US9926.50 per tonne. Producers Western Areas and Independence Group, which have the most to gain from the increase, each rose more than 7%.
