Newmont to face tough 2007

A DIP in gold sales was not able to take the shine off Newmont Mining’s quarterly and annual reports, which included a 260% increase in quarterly net income, but the gold major has forecast a tough year ahead due to lower production from mines in Australia and Peru and the closure of mines in North America.
