Craig Burton has resigned and former Placer Dome executive Geoff Handley will take over as non-executive chairman.

Handley joined the Mirabela board in January and is also a director of Eldorado Gold Corporation, PanAust and Endeavour Silver Corporation.

Bill Clough has also resigned from the board.

BHP Billiton has appointed Nicola Evans as deputy company secretary, replacing Libby Joyner.

Former Gindalbie Metals directors Garret Dixon and David Southam have quit the board of Western Australia’s Mid West iron ore hopeful Padbury Mining after only three months.

No reason was given for the departures.

Major Padbury shareholder and Aurium Resources managing director Terry Quinn has replaced John Saunders as non-executive chairman.

Saunders will become chairman of Padbury’s subsidiary Midwest Infrastructure.

Padbury also appointed William Han to the board as a representative of shareholder White Horse Australia Holdings.

Toro Energy chair Erica Smyth has joined the board of earthmoving equipment provider Emeco.

Former Geoscience Australia chief executive officer Dr Neil Williams has been appointed to the board of Carpentaria Exploration.

National Mineral Development Corporation directors Rana Som and Narenda Kumar Nanda have joined the board of Legacy Iron Ore after the Indian state-owned company took a majority stake in the iron ore junior.

Peter Bilbe has resigned as a director of Norseman Gold due to personal reasons.

Downer EDI has appointed London-based Kerry Sanderson and Woodside Energy executive Eve Howell to its board as directors.

Syrah Resources has revamped its board following the acquisition of Jacana Resources.

Paul Kehoe has been appointed as managing director, replacing Alistair Campbell who has resigned as MD but will remain as a director.

Mike Chester has been appointed as non-executive director, while Terry Lees has resigned as exploration director.

Meanwhile, Mark Cashmore has joined the board of Torian Resources, while Cameron Young has resigned to join Boardroom Radio overseas.

Ronald Stanley has resigned as a director of TUC Resources.

Finally, Mark Day has replaced Stephen Gaffney as company secretary of Ludowici.
