Mixed day for miners

THE local market hit a three-month low earlier today after a weak lead from Wall Street before an afternoon rally on the back of some bargain hunting, while it was a mixed session for resource stocks.

The S&P-ASX 200 index dipped to a three-month low of 5211.6 points before gaining some ground to close at 5283, down 4.6 points, while the All Ordinaries finished the session 2.9 points lower at 5408.9....
