Stocks finish the week on a high note

THE Australian stock market made its second successive day of gains, though today’s rise was a lot more definitive than yesterday’s after overseas stocks rallied.

Hope of an easing of the tension in Libya, as well as better than expected jobs data pushed the S&P 500 1.7% higher overnight. Locally, the S&P/ASX 200 index closed 1.2% or 57.9 points up to 4864.3....
