Before his appointment with the company, Johnstone was managing director of Territory Resources.

He was also the vice-president of operation and COO at Equinox Minerals, prior to its $C7.5 billion ($A7.57 billion) acquisition by Barrick Gold.

Upon his appointment, and subject to shareholder approval, Johnstone will be awarded 500,000 unlisted options at 45c.

Image Resources has appointed Peter Davies to the position of managing director.

The appointment comes as the company makes the transition from explorer to project developer and producer at its North Perth Basin mineral sands project.

Davies held the position of project manager for Image’s mineral sands project feasibility study in February 2012.

Mintails has informed the market that its chief executive officer Kim Freeman has resigned citing personal reasons.

Mark Brune will remain on the board as executive chairman while the company begins searching for a replacement.

Minemakers has brought forward the appointment of new chief executive Cliff Lawrenson.

His permanent position with the company is subject to shareholder approval of his remuneration package.

Lawrenson will now start immediately ahead of the shareholder meeting next month.

Andrew Drummond said he would step down from his role as executive chairman following a transitional period.

Tony Haggarty has formally resigned as director of IMX Resources.

Haggarty was appointed to the board in 2008 and made the decision to focus on his responsibilities at Whitehaven Coal where he is currently MD.

Summit Resources has announced the appointment of Alan Rule as its new chief financial officer, effective July 23.

Rule will replace the current CFO Garry Korte who is leaving the company to take up a new position as CFO for Roy Hill Holdings.

MACA has announced that its managing director Chris Tuckwell will resign to take up a career in Africa.

Tuckwell will remain with MACA for a transition period of about three months.

MHM Metals has appointed Phil Thick as its non-executive director.

At present, Thick is CEO and director of chemical manufacturing and mining services company Coogee Chemicals.

Patrick Elliot will resign as non-executive director and chairman of Australia Oriental Minerals.

Geoff Andrews will be appointed non-executive chairman with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Chris Orchard has resigned from his position as director at Royalco Resources.

Resource and Investment has appointed Danielle Gunnell as project manager to oversee the recommissioning of the Grosvenor gold plant in Western Australia.

A mechanical and mining engineer, Gunnell previously worked for Barrick at the Lumwana copper mine in Zambia.

Finally, Morgan Barron has resigned as joint company secretary of Radar Iron.
