Quiet but positive start to the week

THE local market kicked off the working week on a positive note, inching slightly higher in Monday trade following upbeat overseas leads while the major miners led the gains on the back of stronger base metal prices.

The S&P-ASX 200 index ended the session 0.3% higher at 4409.9 points after setting a fresh 10-day high of 4419.7 points on a quiet day of trading, while the All Ordinaries gained 0.3% to 4429.5 points....
