Allied's costs soar

ST Barbara’s $A556 million takeover bid for Allied Gold could raise more questions as Allied’s June quarter production fell nearly 8% from the previous quarter. Its group-wide total cash costs per ounce jumped almost 17% to $US1703/oz – well above spot gold prices.
