Rosy future for gold

GOLD plays followed the lead of the broader resource stocks, ending the day mixed despite analysts painting a rose short-term outlook. Most analysts are of the view that the precious metal’s price could reach $US850 per ounce in the near-term, spurred along by the recent assassination of Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto. Spot gold last traded at $835.90/oz while February delivery was at $838/oz.
