SPOT gold was last trading $US1.1 lower at $1000.7 an ounce. The bulk of gold miners on the <I>Final Call</I> watchlist followed the precious metal downwards with Newcrest slipping $1.21 to close at $37.49, while Lihir Gold ended the session 12c lower at $4.25.
