Big week in iron ore

THERE was plenty of news in the iron ore sector this week, and not just from the majors. Fortescue Metals Group announced the approval of its $A8.5 billion expansion, Murchison got interim funding, Atlas is in talks with BHP Billiton over rail access, while FerrAus has upset BHP on the same matter. It was a tough week for Mount Gibson, and Brockman rejected a takeover from the Chinese.
