Copper lifts ahead of ECB meeting

Overnight on the London Metal Exchange, the copper price rose to $US7731 per tonne after trading as high as $7674/t on Monday. AME Group analyst Matt Fusarelli said although things were cooling down in China, demand growth for copper was still expected to increase by 5%, due in part to the rollout of electricity projects, <i>Reuters</i> reported. “We are expecting copper to outperform other metals over the next six months,
