Anaconda lifts after hiring Morgan Stanley to help fend off Anglo

ANACONDA Nickel shares have headed north to a five-week high after the <I>Australian Financial Review</I> said today the company has hired Morgan Stanley to advise on its dispute with major shareholder Anglo American.

Among a number of options the paper said Anaconda has its new advisers examining is finding a possible bidder for the company. The nickel laterite miner's shares were up 17c at $1.67 by early afternoon....
