Phelps Dodge may join Equinox copper venture

THE world's second-largest copper producer, Phelps Dodge, is reportedly considering joining a US$540 million joint venture with Perth-based junior Equinox Resources to build the first new copper mine in Zambia in 25 years, Equinox reportedly said.
