Iron ore exports for last month totalled 34.8Mt, also up 33% on the same time last year.
Total throughput for the financial year to date is 301Mt, a 30% boost on last year.
The milestone comes after the port last week saw a record 2.02Mt of iron ore exported in a 24-hour period.
The record was achieved on the morning and evening tides, with the first tide seeing 1.02Mt exported on five vessels.
The first outbound ship left at 6.40am and the evening saw a further 1Mt sail out on six vessels, with the last leaving at 10.15pm.
Last week's record was the first time the port had breached the 2Mt level, with the PHPA managing 24 vessel movements in the 24-hour period.
April also hit a record for the largest amount of product exported on a single tide, with 1.1Mt recorded on April 6.
The latest batch of records highlights the continued expansions at Port Hedland, which also saw record throughput in December despite Tropical Christine forcing a temporary closure.
The port recorded a 12% year-on-year increase in December to 30Mt, beating the previous September record by 300,000 tonnes.
BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group, Atlas Iron and BC Iron are among the iron ore producers that export through Port Hedland.
